A special note of appreciation goes to Clay Ward who was the visionary behind replacing the Sanctuary windows of All Saints Episcopal Church with stained glass. Alnog with Father Thomas Schirmer, then rector of the parish, they began the tedious job of researching and interviewing artists. After interviewing several artists, the committe selected Kate DuPuis of Rainey DuPuis Studios. Along with her creative artistic abilities, sensitivity to the are of stained glass and her willingness to work with a rather large committee, the match was perfect.

On February 23, 1994, the nine members of the Stained Glass Committee began meeting with Kate DuPius to discuss their ideas and adopted the following provisions for the stained glass windows:

  •    There are a total of ten windows along the side aisles in the    Sanctuary that would be replaced with stained glass.
  •    The theme of the stained glass would show saints wit their    individual symbols because our church is so named.
  •    The saints selected would represent various countries as    reflected in the heritage of the parishioners of All Saints    Episcopal Church.
  •    The saints considered for the windows would not duplicate the    saints already represented in the altar rail kneelers.
  •    Each 3-light bay would be treated as one theme for each of    the ten selected and approved saints.
In addition:
  •    On March 23, 1994, the committee approved the ten saints    for the stained glass windows.
  •    On May 5, 1994, Kate DuPuis provided the committee with    rendered drawings of the ten approved saints.
  •    On May 8, 1994, a presentation was conducted following    both of the services and the congregation was given the    opportunity to donate financially to the project.
  •    By the second week in May all ten windows were pledged,    marking the beginning of this endeavor.
  •    On June 6, 1994, the exterior work began on the windows.    The window frames and sash were scraped, primed,    caulked and repainted.
  •    On March 1, 1995, the ten stained glass windows were    completed and installed.
  •    On March 23, 1995, J. Clark Grew, Bishop of Ohio visited    All Saints Episcopal Church to dedicate and bless the new    Stained Glass Windows.
The Stained Glass Committee wishes to extend a warm thank you to all of you who had a part in making this project a great success and to Clay Ward who was the motivating source behind this endeavor.
